This web seminar will describe three well-known national programs that promote career awareness of high technology programs in higher education. High Tech U offers three-day, hands-on experiences for sophomores and juniors, at industry sites. HTU shows students the relevance of science, math, and technology courses and opportunities in high tech fields.

The FIRST Robotics mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation, and that foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.

Project Lead the Way's curriculum makes math and science relevant for students. By engaging in hands-on, real-world projects, students understand how the skills they are learning in the classroom can be applied in everyday life. This approach is called activities-based learning, project-based learning, and problem-based learning.
