We just had a great webinar on Technical Programs: Here to Stay or too Expensive to Maintain. For those who attended – thank you for helping make this a success. For those who missed it, you can listen to a recording at matecnetworks.org – in the keyword field, type webinar.

I wanted post some questions to continue the discussion:

1. How do you balance lecture versus application in technical programs?

2. At my IT program, the attrition has hovered around 40%, both when we had several apps for every seat, and now that we just meet our quota. What is the approx. attrition rate in your respective program. Close to ours, different?

3. How can you address the 2 year-vocational degree, is college focus on short-term certificates or extended learning?

4. Are the levels of high school completion tests hindering our students for two-year programs?

5. At what age should our schools focus to get young students interested in Electronics? Many Junior Highs and High Schools have eliminated these kinds of classes (e.g., electronics, shop, networking, robotics) because of funding.

If you have any other questions, comments, or answers, please leave a comment.
