Our district, the Maricopa Community Colleges, is starting an initiative focused on high impact customer service. We learned from Terry Bartelt, of Fox Valley Community Colleges, in NetWorks webinar, Technical Program Recruitment: Ten Tip to Thinking Outside the Box, that customer service to students can either bring students in, or send them running.

To help shape the initiative on high impact customer service, we are asking the question, “What is the best customer service experience you have ever had?” In my case, I thought of several instances; in every one, my expectations were exceeded. So, that is my definition of the best experience of customer service: when my expectations are exceeded. What are your experiences or ideas for “best customer service”? How can you apply what you have experienced to student recruitment and retention?
