I am reading my Popular Science magazine and I was struck by a thought. I have been flipping through this magazine for as long as I can remember. My dad, an engineer, subscribes to it and has subscribed to it right after I was born. I remember flipping through the pages and thinking how cool these things were. I often wondered where the products were that they wrote about, or how neat it would be to invent something that would be written up in the magazine. Many of the inventions, I wonder, where are they? Are they out there now? Or were the ideas to economically unfeasible? The magazine was one reason that I enjoy the high tech world and found myself in it.

I never did become an inventor; nor an engineer. But I still like to read through the magazine and imagine what could be. How many of you read Popular Science as a kid? Did it inspire you in a career choice? What inspired you to your career?
