Google Gmail, calendar, and other Google applications have lost their beta status.

Google is removing the “beta” label from many of its key services, including Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Talk, and Google Video for Business. The move is seen as a way to attract large businesses to Google Apps, its suite of messaging and productivity applications

It has been couple of years since Google started these apps and I am sure many people thought beta was part of the name.  While Google says it is doing this for businesses, how many schools will start to use them now that beta is no longer part of the name?  Maricopa Community Colleges will be using Gmail with the students (enterprise wise, we are still using Microsoft).  The question remains, will the lack of beta have people/business switching over to Google apps or will they still be hesitent?
