Hi everyone,

I read interesting article this morning concerning the effects of a down world ecconomy on the future of robots. With their high expense and limited functions, many companies as well as many households (especially in Japan) are staying with their humans and not employing more robots to perform their tasks. In Japan, the leading robotics manufacturer and user of robots, the slow ecconomy is taking a great toll on the robots with many assembly plants shutting down their robots as orders dwindle.

I find it strange that we now live in the future of our early imaginations, where robots should be doing the majority of our daily tasks, to live in a world where a robot’s future may be coming to a halt due the ecconomy. Please read the story at the following NY Times link and let me know what you think the future holds for robots helping man.
