Here are some stories of interest:

Rebirth of Irridium?  The Ariane launched a giant satellite into space to provide phone coverage for North America.  Instead of many small satelittes in low orbit to provide worldwide coverage – one big satelitte to cover one continent.  The question becomes will they put a few more up to provide world coverage, or just for North America?  The nice thing, instead of a brick to carry, the satelitte phone looks like a blackberry.

Americans see science as lagging…  The public sees it, the scientist see it, educators see it.  Now, can we do something about it?

There are currently solar panels being put onto my house!  They should be done by Monday.  There were several instructors out there asking questions of the installers – and the installers were very excited, they want to know more, they want a certificate, they want it to be worthwhile.  As the two groups talked, you could see the excitment between them.  It will be great to see if this comes about.
