In the workplace, there are two, three generations at work.  In classrooms, there can sometimes be four generations.  Each generation is shaped by the times they live in and how they will respond.  In order for a company to be successful, each generation must be able to communicate successfully with the other, as well as respect the talents and skills each generation has.  NetWorks will be hosting a free webinar to address this issue.  This webinar will be hosted by Karl Kapp, author of Gadget, Games, and Gizmos for Learning, as well as the upcoming book Learning in 3D: Adding a New Demension to Enterprise Learning and Collaboration

November 30, Karl posted a blog entitled:  Next Steps Gen Y (gamers) Can Take to Understand Boomers and Gen X’ers.  These are some suggestions that Gen Y can do to get better acclimated to the work force.  One of my favorite suggestions is:  “15. Get up and visit a boomer, don’t just send an email or IM.”  In an office, a co-worker that you visit face to face for just a minute will carry more weight than your email message being just one-in-a-hunderd that they recieved that day.

On December 11, Karl will present Reaching and Teaching Across the Generations:

Today’s classrooms can contain up to four different generations of students – each generation having unique motivators, learning styles, and technology preferences. Examine generational differences, as well as pedagogical strategies and techniques to best engage your entire classroom.

Karl always gives excellent presentations and NetWorks is very pleased to have him join us again (you can find his other webinars at NetWorks – keyword search webinars kapp.  Join NetWorks for this free webinar!
